Fall Family Concert
Fall is here, and we're pulling out all the stops! Celebrate the season with an afternoon of live music, family fun, and community at MONA's Annual Fall Family Concert. Join us on Sunday, October 18, from 3:00–5:00 PM at Ballston Quarter Plaza for a FREE outdoor concert featuring live music from Collective, a MONA favorite. This year we've added some brand-new surprises, too!
Come in costume to sing, dance, and enjoy kid-friendly activities, including a special partnership with READ Book Nook. Whether you're a longtime MONA member or new to the neighborhood, this is the perfect way to spend a fall afternoon with friends and family.

Costumes welcome! If it rains, the celebration moves indoors to Quarter Market, so the fun goes on either way.

- Live music from Collective, a MONA favorite! Come in costume and bring your dancing shoes. (Consider ear protection for sensitive ears.)
- READ Book Nook activity station: fun, hands-on reading activities.
- Mini pumpkin decorating: the first 200 kids get to decorate a pumpkin and take it home!
- Trunk or Treat with Ballston Quarter businesses: visit all the tables and receive a raffle ticket to win a Ballston Quarter + MONA gift basket!
- Goodie bags for kids: the first 200 kids get a goodie bag filled with fun surprises!
- Quarter Market restaurants: grab a bite! Food from Quarter Market restaurants is available to purchase.
- Yard games, bubbles, BQ swag and fun for all!

Volunteer with us! We need a few extra hands to make the day a success: set-up (1:00 to 3:00 PM), registration and pumpkin and activity stations (one-hour shifts from 2:45 to 4:45 PM), and clean-up (4:45 to 5:30 PM). Shifts are short, and it's a great way to meet other families. Sign up to volunteer

When and where is the concert?

Does it cost anything? Do I need to be a MONA member?
It’s free and open to everyone, members and neighbors alike. Bring friends and family!
Do I have to register?
We encourage it so we can plan for the crowd, but walk-ups are welcome. RSVP here.
Where do I park?
- Ballston Quarter garage: pay by QR code once you’re inside the garage.
- Street parking: available nearby, free on Sundays.
- Metro: Ballston Metro is a short walk away, and many neighbors can walk.
How do I get to the plaza with a stroller or wheelchair?
Elevators are inside the mall, and escalators are both inside and outside. Strollers are welcome, and we’ll have stroller parking at the event.
What if it rains?
The concert happens rain or shine. If it rains, we move indoors to Quarter Market at the same time.
What should we wear and bring?
- Costumes: welcome, optional, and a fun way to start Halloween early.
- Ear plugs: the music is loud, so bring ear protection for noise-sensitive guests.

How does Trunk or Treat work?
Pick up a passport at the MONA table. Visit the participating Ballston Quarter businesses to collect a stamp at each stop, then turn in your completed passport for a raffle ticket. The prize is a Ballston Quarter + MONA gift basket, drawn near the end of the concert. Winner must be present at 4:30.
Are there limits on the goodie bags and pumpkins?
There are 200 goodie bags and 200 mini pumpkins available.
Where can we eat?
The event takes place in Quarter Market, where many restaurants will be open during the concert. Food and drinks are available for purchase and are not included with the event.
Where are the restrooms?
Located in the rear of Quarter Market.
Can I bring my dog?
Sorry, dogs aren’t allowed at this event. Only service animals welcome.
Can I volunteer?
Yes! Sign up for setup (1:00–3:00 PM), activity stations (2:45–4:45 PM), or cleanup (4:45–5:30 PM) through our volunteer sign-up.
